A Metamorphosis and Adrianna McMannes

Christman Opera Company Presents

A Metamorphosis

Premiere

June 1, 7:30pm

Anna Winslow, Librettist
Theodore Christman, Composer

The premiere of A Metamorphosis, based on an original story by Ms. Winslow, offers a reflection upon the contemporary issues of teen homelessness and drug overdose as seen through the eyes of Juniper. It is the beauty of their art that brings this ragtag group together, but will that be enough to sustain them when tragedy befalls their little family?

Paired in a double bill with A Metamorphosis will be Adriana McMannes, another opera by Christman and Winslow, which had its premiere at the Marc A. Scorca Hall at the National Opera Center in September of 2016. Set in England in the 1930s, this opera has an anti-bullying theme and tells a story of the triumph of truth over malicious lies.
