Emerging Artist Recital Series: Jensen Foundation Competition Winner, Baritone John Brancy

Featuring Baritone John Brancy and Pianist Peter Dugan

Discover the future of opera in recital with OPERA America’s Emerging Artist Recital Series in the intimate 72-seat Marc A. Scorca Hall. On May 5, join us for a concert by Baritone John Brancy, winner of the 2015 Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition. He has performed with Oper Frankfurt, Gotham Chamber Opera, OPERA San Antonio and Opera Saratoga. In the 2015–2016 season, Brancy sings Malatesta in Don Pasquale with the Glyndebourne Festival Opera Tour, Harlekin in Ariadne auf Naxos at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream at Pacific Opera Victoria.

The Jensen Foundation Vocal Competition, founded in 2000, supports young artists pursuing careers in opera while following the philanthropic vision of the foundation to support the musical arts. Since its inception, the competition has awarded more than $500,000 to 99 singers.
